Fireline Series #3 "Fallers"
Posted by Stinkbug Photography (Cochise County, United States) on 24 November 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.
First and foremost...
I would like to thank everyone for the wonderful comments yesterday. I am overwhelmed and appreciate the time you took to visit.
About Fallers,
After the fire passed and before crews could go in to mop up and check for hot spots, a team of Fallers would be sent in to cut down trees that were considered to be a hazard. Trees that would burn from the inside had the potential to fall at any time. Normally a lookout would be assigned on each crew but you yourself should always be aware.
In this image the Fallers are cutting down 2 trees across a stream so the crews can accsess the area.
