Fireline Series #4 Heavy Air Tanker

Posted by Stinkbug Photography (Cochise County, United States) on 25 November 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This Heavy air tanker is making a retardant drop on a wildfire in Southern Arizona. Fires in the lower elevations spread rapidly because of the higher tempatures, strong winds and the finer fuels (Grasses).
Without air support, these fires would be almost impossible to catch once they get going. Lesson learned, roll up the windows on the engine before the retardant hits.
