This image along with yesterdays sunflower were processed using the Orton effect. It was originally a darkroom technique but can be done on the computer as well. Basically it is a sandwich of a sharp image with a slightly blurred one.

Also this your flower photo is wonderful, but I still would like to get a sunflower :) You can use my "ice flower" as screen saver !

Nicely done Gary! I'm a big fan of the Orton, myself. You've used it on a perfect subject... way better than using a diffuse glow. Beautiful!!
