When I was young it wasn't cool to hang around your parents, so I thought at the time. I was rebelious because I thought I knew it all and I wanted to be different. But as the years go by I find myself wanting the same things my parents wanted in life and I appreciate the examples they set, a little more every year. My dad passed away a little over 15 years ago and today was his birthday. Whenever I miss him, I just look in the mirror. Happy Birthday Dad, and Thanks!
I like your creativeness and special message.

This post put me to think - in very good way. You found exactly right words. Thanks for sharing this your father`s birthday, your feelings. I could say, you are now the real adult :) ( I send my ice flower photo to some email address, I hope you can get it! )

What a beautiful tribute to your Father. I felt the same way you did as a teen. I am lucky enough to have both of my parents still living (and healthy) and we enjoy many good times together. I am thankful of this every day. Thank you for sharing this.

Sweet picture... when we are teenagers we don't want to be with them but still need their approval to feel worthy... Happy birthday Gary's dad!

Great color and composition.
"When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years."
Attributed, perhaps incorrectly, to Mark Twain.

Cool image and nice tribute to your Pops. I lost my dad recently and I know what you mean about wanting to be around yours. I wish I could back to all those missed opportunities I had to hang around him when I thought I had "better"/"cooler" things to do and spend the time with him.
Thanks for sharing, dude! =-)
