SkullsPosted by Stinkbug Photography (Cochise County, United States) on 20 April 2008 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio. Finally, my 100th post. It feels good to reach a milestone. Not only that, the Am3 community has been so supportive that I felt empowered to try new avenues that I would not normally take. Thank you all for that, and for inspiring me with your images.

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaCongrats on your 100th post. I think I reached that some time this week too and I agree with you about the Am3 community. Gary this is another one of your great images. One of the things I love about your photography is that it is always surprisingly different - one day from the next. You have a good eye. 20 Apr 2008 7:05am @Marion: Thank you very much Marion and congratulations to you also on the 100th mark. It may not be a lot in the grand scheme of things but at least we don't have to feel like the new kids on the block. martie from Okinawa, JapanThis is a really good image - but makes me wonder what happened? Did they all just go there and die? Congratulations on your 100th posting!!!! I have enjoyed your photos very much and hope to continue to do so for a long time to come. 20 Apr 2008 8:22am @martie: Thank you Martie. And I enjoy yours as well. I hope to be around to post images for a long time. Photography has played a big role in my life for as long as I can remember. As far as what happened here in the image, the sad part is that these are for sale in a shop in Tombstone. Betty from New Jersey, United StatesCongratulations on your 100th post! I really enjoy your photos, Gary. This one is excellent! Nice composition. 20 Apr 2008 10:59am @Betty: Thanks very much Betty. You always have a nice selection as well. Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaThere's a powerful image, hurtful but very striking, you have a very good eye, Happy 100th, and I def am looking for another 100. (Except that little MIA thing :)). Thank you for hanging in there. You are the most eclectic Photog at Am3 and I hope that never changes. drphoto from Newcastle upon Tyne, United KingdomWoo Hoo! Happy 100th! Awesome image but I it is a tad overexposed - was there no way to rescue the detail on the central skill? Dan 20 Apr 2008 3:29pm @drphoto: Thanks Dan. There was just nothing there and it was shot at high noon in Tombstone. (How ironic). yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, GreeceCongratulations on your 100th post! You definatly have a unique quality about your work. More times than not I look at your images and think "How is she able to get that shot". Plus your quotes are always interesting to read. I hope we are both around for another couple hundred. Melissa W. from Warsaw, Indiana, United StatesCongrats, Gary! :) What a powerful image this is. I really like how you framed/composed this...the sepia treatment is perfect. A shame about the highlights on the one skull; however, this is still a great image. I really enjoyed reading that this was taken at high noon in Tombstone (of all places). ;) Keep up the great work! 21 Apr 2008 2:32pm @Melissa W.: Thanks Melissa. Yeah, Without major surgery (no pun intended) there was not much I could do about the highlights. This weekend I actually tried some selective DOF which I have never done. I admired your work with it so much I thought I would give it a go. It was horrible. I think I'm going to leave that up to you and I'll just enjoy yours. @Michael: Thank you Michael, I always enjoy your posts and appreciate your comments. Melissa W. from Warsaw, Indiana, United StatesThat makes me feel bad...I SERIOUSLY doubt they're horrible. I'm interested in seeing those images; I'm sure they're not as bad as you claim they are. :) 21 Apr 2008 10:56pm Sandrine from Cincinnati, United StatesCongratulation! Am3 is such a great place to be! Great shot! I love that they fill the whole frame! 27 Apr 2008 9:24pm |
